要約(日本語): この報告書は電気学会産業応用部門ITS（Intelligent Transport Systems：高度交通システム）技術委員会の下に組織されたITSセンシング基盤調査専門委員会における調査活動をまとめたものである。ITSにかかわるセンシング技術は着実に広がりつつある。画像センサをはじめとする多様なセンサが道路交通システムに深く組み入れられ，センサからの情報収集，加工・蓄積を経て提示されるまでのサイクルも自動化が進みつつある。このような状況の中，ネットワーク化されたセンサを扱うセンサネットの研究開発にも大きな進展が生まれようとしている。このような状況を踏まえ，本調査専門委員会では2007年10月から約3年間にわたり調査活動を行った。具体的には，センシング技術を道路交通基盤（インフラストラクチャ）として位置づけ，ITSセンシングが道路交通全体の効率・安全・快適にどのように貢献しうるかについて調査した。

要約(英語): This report summarizes the investigative action in ITS　sensing　infrastructure Investigating R&D Committee organized under the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan ，Industrial applications society,ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems:) technical committee. The sensing technology in connection with ITS is spreading steadily. Automation is also following a cycle until various sensors including an imaging sensor are deeply included in a traffic system and are shown through the information gathering from a sensor, and processing and accumulation. It is going to bear big progress also to research and development of the sensor network which treats the sensor connected by network in such a situation. Based on such a situation, the investigative action was performed over about three years in thecommittee from October, 2007. Specifically positioning sensing technology as a road traffic infrastructure, the committee　research ITS sensing how　to contribute efficiency, safety, comfort in the whole road.
