要約(英語): Nowadays, Technical Committees or Symposium for Power Engineering Society (PES) have been held in the world. On the other hand, published papers regarding PES can be accessed at the web of IEEEXplore (USA)，IET(England) and IEEJ throughthe J-Stage(Japan), etc.．This paper describes review results of submitted papers through the author’s experience of IEEE, ISH,CIGRE Colloquium, IWHV and IEEJ papers for high voltage(AC and HVDC) surge arresters in 1975－2010. In consideration of engineering education for young students or engineers，it is useful to summarize the process of these published papers. This papermay be contributed to the activity of IEC TC28 MT7 -- HVDC Insulation Coordination -- IEC TS 60071-5.
