要約(英語): The surface of polymeric insulator keeps hydrophobicity during the most of the period under the practical condition. Therefore, to make researches on the surface phenomena under these conditions, the artificial pollution of the insulators requires different pollution method from that used in the conventional withstand voltage tests of insulators. We have developed the new artificial pollution device using wind tunnel with similar concepts of Dry Salt Layer and Dust Cycle method. The performance of the device in various aspects are examined.
