要約(日本語): This paper investigates the accuracy and numerical stability of cable internal impedances implemented in existing EMTPs. Schelkunoff’s impedance formula occasionally results in numerical instability because of a number of modified Bessel’s functions with complex variables. Closed-form formulas are in general stable, but an exponential function involved in complex hyperbolic functions can become too large and can give an in-correct result. Especially when a commercial software is used, a care should be taken.
