要約(日本語): This paper investigates numerical instability in time domain and passivity violation in frequency domain, when simulating very-fast transients (VFTs) in a gas-insulated substation (GIS). It is made clear that the numerical instability and passivity violation appear when the classical transmission line (TL) approach with Carson’s earth-return impedance and space capacitance implemented existing EMTPs are adopted in a transient simulation of VFTs in the GIS. Those problems are eliminated by adopting the extended TL approach with an accurate earth-return impedance and earth-return admittance.
