要約(日本語): The multimedia conferencing system is an important tool and one of the basic techniques supporting team work inthe Concurrent Engineering. In order to reduce the network bandwidth for sending the conferencing data by using multicasting,this paper describes the design and initial implementation of a multimedia conferencing system based on campus network, whichcan fully make use of the convenient educational resources in the campus network, supports interactive, real-time, distributedconferences among two or more users. Using computers connected by data and voice networks, this system creates anenvironment in which many sorts of meetings can take place, including telephone conversations, discussions among colleagues,and lectures.
