要約(日本語): This paper investigates the impact of the pulse-width modulation (PWM) inverter dead-time on the core losses of a synchronous motor with buried permanent magnets. For this purpose, a special GaNFET type power switch device is used, that can achieve very low switching times. The core losses are measured under no-load, constant speed and constant DC bus voltage conditions. The results show that despite the fact that the low dead-time causes a decrease of the PWM modulation index, it advantageously contributes to reduce the motor core losses.
