要約(日本語): To examine the possibility of evaluation of diabetic neuropathy with sympathetic nerve activity (SNA) derived microneurographically, 4 groups (Normal, STZ-3wks, STZ+ARI and STZ-1wk) of rats were used. Streptozotocin (STZ) was administered ip to each rat at 8 weeks of age in STZ-3wks and STZ+ARI groups, and at 10 weeks for STZ-1wk. Aldose reductase inhibitor (ARI) was orally given daily to STZ+ARI group after the STZ administration. At 11 weeks, sympathetic nerve signal was derived from the sciatic nerve of each rat using the microneurographic technique. After steady-state sympathetic activity was recorded, glucose was administered iv (IVGA), and the action potential (AP) rate was evaluated. The steady-state AP-rate in STZ-3wks group was lower than that in the other 3 groups. The SNA responding to IVGA gradually increased in Normal and STZ-1wk groups, whereas it showed little change in STZ-3wks and STZ-ARI groups. The results suggest that the feasibility of AP-rate in evaluating neuropathy.
