要約(日本語): 手指の運動を対象とし，運動開始前に運動を随意に中断したときの脳活動について検討した．被験者には4 sで1回転する時計を呈示し，一定の位置を通過するタイミングを運動開始合図した．一部の試行において運動開始合図前に停止合図を呈示し，随意で運動をとりやめるよう指示した．停止信号が呈示されたときの脳電位を解析したところ停止合図呈示後潜時約300 msにおいて正中-中心前部に分布する陽性電位が認められた．

要約(英語): We investigated brain potentials related to the interruption of the motor intention prior to the movement initiation. The positive potential was observed at the fronto-central scalp with latency of 300 ms from the stop-signal. This result suggests that this observed positive component arise from the activity of motor cortex including the supplementary motor area.
