Needs of an automatic-meter-reading system have been rising because of various reasons such as the burden of calendar settings change work, increase of the number of self-locking apartments, and rise of customer’s sense of security, etc. This paper introduces the outline of “Kansai’s New Metering System” developed to solve these problems.
