要約(日本語): In order to evaluate the efficacy of combined therapy using chemotherapy and photodynamic therapy, it is necessary to assess the uptakes of an anticancer drug and a photosensitizer in cancer cells. We employed imaging mass spectrometry using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization to simultaneously observe the distributions of multiple drugs. When zeolite matrix made by mixing a conventional matrix, 6-aza-2-thiothymine, and zeolite NaY5.6 was used, the ionization efficiency of the anticancer drug, docetaxel, was improved about 13-fold, and the simultaneous detection of docetaxel and the photosensitizer, protoporphyrin IX, administered in human prostate cancer cells was succeeded by dropping the zeolite matrix solution onto the dried spot of the cell suspension.
