要約(英語): The Shinkansen, a network of Japanese high-speed railway lines, is expanded to link most major cities in Japan. Because the Shinkansen lines go through more than one electric utility area and there are two utility frequencies of 50Hz and 60Hz in Japan, some parts of the Shinkansen traction feeders are linked with both 50Hz and 60Hz networks. Although the traction feeder is operated with either frequency in normal conditions, the feeder might accidentally be fed by both 50Hz and 60Hz simultaneously. This paper introduces a traction feeder relay that detects such accidental dual-frequency feed and results of the factory and the field tests of the relay we conducted.
