要約(英語): A large integration of PV into power grids on a large scale may cause imbalances between power demand and supply. Using the PV generation forecast in EDC, which includes the unit commitment (UC) of conventional power plants, is essential to maintain the economy and reliability of the power system with large-scale integration of PV generation. However, an outage or a power surplus occurs if the forecast errors are large. The previous study revealed that an outage is more likely to occur than a power surplus because the outputs of operating generators are close to the maximum output and the upward reserve capacity is scarce. To secure more operating reserve capacity is important to avoid outages due to over-forecasted PV power output. In this study, we evaluate the impact of hot reserve on power system operation using PV generation forecast. The output of PV generation is suppressed to avoid power surpluses caused due to under-forecasted PV power output.
