要約(英語): In this paper, by treating the reflection and transmission by multilayered structures for linearly polarized incidence as the matrix eigenvalue problem, a three dimensional (3D) field expression for the degeneracy of eigenvalues is presented using Jordan normal form. From numerical examples for a critical angle when the eigenvalues corresponding to propagation constants degenerate by zero, it is found that the evanescent waves decay linearly.
