要約(英語): A railway infrastructure equipment requires extremely high reliability. In railway electrical systems, equipment failures due to lightning can lead to transportation failures. Although we are investigating and taking countermeasures for accidents caused by lightning, lightning troubles have continued in recent years. Therefore, we established a committee in 2019 to clarify the causes of these lightning-related accidents. This paper describes lightning protection for railway electrical systems.
