要約(英語): During sucking, the tongue undulates from the front towards the back of the tongue, showing peristaltic-like movements. We previously measured the tongue force of approximately 200 infants and have shown its dynamic properties. In this study, the movements of the infant tongue during sucking were reproduced using a four-bar linkage. We also developed a model of the oral cavity that integrated a tongue, palate, etc., including the part where a sealed is produced. The force waveforms obtained from the oral cavity model manifested the similar characteristics as those of the infant tongue. We also demonstrated that the oral cavity model could be used to measure the flow of milk.
