要約(英語): This paper introduces the concept of a discrete control method of class E amplifiers to achieve nominal operation for varying load resistance. In the proposed method, shunt capacitance and output resonant capacitance are varied electronically by setting the status of switches that are connected to the capacitances. The proposed method can maintain nominal operation, i.e., zero-voltage switching and zero-derivative switching (ZVS/ZDS), both when the load resistance is higher and lower than the designed value. Design equations are presented considering the parasitic capacitance of a MOSFET switch. A design example is also provided in the paper. Finally, the operation of the proposed circuit is verified through experiments.
