The insulation monitoring device monitors electrical equipment during operation and detects unusual signs of the electrical equipment. However, the limit of the insulation resistance detected by the present device is so small that we cannot apply the device to the maintenance of the electrical railway system. Therefore, we introduce the new insulation monitoring device developed to using in traction substations.
