要約(日本語): Making commuting railways “reservation-compulsory” is a quick method to realise “congestion-free” commute on those railways. However, this simple idea was generally regarded as unrealistic. In this paper, the author discusses the possibility of “reservation-compulsory” commuting railways, and reveal that: (1) the benefit of the idea is far beyond the realisation of “congestion-free” travel and include significant increase in transport capacity and faster and more convenient travel experience for passengers; and (2) there is ample possibility that the problems in introducing the idea, including but not limited to the complicated reservation procedures for passengers, can be overcome.
