要約(日本語): By 1995, China’s power sector was the world second largest after USA. But the sector heavily relies on thermal plants that use coal as major fuel and operate under very low efficiency compared to industrialized countries’. The impact on the regional and global environment of the reliance on the low efficient coal-fired thermal plants must be concerned and need to be solved by advanced electricity generation technology & fuel switch. In this study, an electric power system optimization model is used to evaluate potential in CO2 emission mitigation scenarios and cost-benefit analysis of China’s electric power sector for future international cooperations on solving climate change problems.
