要約(日本語): This paper presents an approach to enhance power system damping with long distant bulk power transmission by a static Var compensator (SVC) using a radial basis function (RBF) network. In the designing process, first Genetic Algorithm (GA) has been applied for designing an optimal PID controller for SVC by selecting a necessary control type and optimizing those of control parameters under various operating conditions. Secondly, an RBF network is trained by using these data. The effectiveness of this control method is verified by simulation results compared with those from an optimal PID controller using genetic algorithm (GA) without an RBF network.
