要約(日本語): The present paper shows results of contamination test on metal oxide arrester type ABB XAQ 96, using facilities of LAPEM (Equipment, Material and testing Laboratory, Mexico). A series of computer simulations was made on the basis of results obtained at the laboratory; these simulations by visual basic show that extreme non-uniform voltage distributions along ZnO elements occur under contaminated and wetted condition of the housing and that the risk of thermal runaway in ZnO elements is low.
