要約(日本語): Variable speed operation of wind turbines has the potential to increase energy capture and to reduce fatigue damage. At high wind speeds, it is very important to keep the system below its ratings without sacrifice of mechanical and electrical stresses induced by wind gusts. This paper proposes a control strategy to limit the system below its ratings. A parallel operation of pitch angle control and electrical power control is proposed. At high wind speeds, turbine speed control is performed by changing pitch angle, while power limiting control is performed by changing exciting frequency of induction generator. Simulation results about the frequency response presented here show excellent effectiveness of the control strategy.
