要約(日本語): Measurements were carried out to evaluate the performance of an MI sensor in the development of a jaw-tracking sensor. The MI sensor was found to be effective to sense displacement of the magnet on the order of 50 μm, thus covering the finite movement of the lower jaw upon contact with the upper jaw. The MI sensor was also found to be effective in sensing movement on the order of 5 to 20 mm, thus covering the swing of the lower jaw during mastication. Both NdFeB and thin film FePt magnet markers were investigated. It was discovered that the MI sensor could satisfactorily detect magnet movement on the order of mm of a FePt magnet 3×3mm and 0.03 mm thick.
