要約(日本語): Abstract Eleetric field mapping inside and outside an arrester was made by using Finite Element Method(FEM). Arresters are widely used in substations to protect important electrical equipment, especially expensive transformers. If the history is reviewed, it is seen that there has been a remarkable development in the main non-linear element from the multi-gap, SiC, ete. to the latest ZnO. The authors have been working on this problem by using numerical calculation, basing upon laboratory experiment.Also the author would try to see the effect of the thermal effect due to the linkege current trough an quarter of zinc oxide element.
