要約(日本語): In this paper, the standby mode operation of series type SMES (Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage) for voltage sag compensation is presented. The new standby mode control scheme for loss minimization and voltage drop mitigation is proposed. The series type SMES will be bypassed during the normal voltage and good weather condition. During adverse weather condition, the series compensator will mitigate the voltage drop and be ready for voltage sag compensation.
