要約(日本語): Lifetime of insulation system is often determined by partial discharge degradation. The authors have been studying the lifetime of Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) film exposed to repetitive partial discharges in needle and plane electrode system. We found that the sudden drop in the number of pulses to breakdown (NBD) was correlated with the cumulative temperature rise at the film surface exposed to the discharge in certain frequency (crest frequency) or greater than crest frequency in the frequency dependence of NBD. However, the breakdown phenomena in the frequency region lower then crest frequency is not yet well investigated. In this case, the NBD do not change significantly with increasing the frequency; however it is also very important to understand the breakdown phenomena in this region due to partial discharge.
