要約(日本語): Effects of magnetic field on the characteristics of low-current vacuum arc plasma were examined by using a Zn anode and an Al cathode. The anode and cathode were arranged so that their axes made right angles to each other. Small column magnets were embedded in the anode and cathode and disc magnetts were arranged at the back side of both electrodes. The arc plasma forms a column depending on the magnetic field distribution. Spectroscopic analyses of emissions from the cathode and anode showed that most of the neutrals flew straight along the electrode axis, but ions flew from cathode to anode and from anode to cathode along the magnetic field. The arc voltage increased with increasing gap spacing and with increasing magnetic field.
