要約(日本語): Detection of magnetic field generated by low current signals is performed by a novel giant magnetoresistive (GMR) probe with a needle consisting of a sensing element (75 μm × 40 μm) at the tip. Small size and high sensitivity is characterizing the novel needle probe. These features make it an attractive tool to be used in a wide variety of medical applications such as the diagnosis and treatment of nerve tissue diseases. The measurement performed by GMR sensor showed that signals in some distance from the sensor can be detected as well as through the layer covering the nerve.
