要約(日本語): In the current research we are focusing on ball-SAW devices made of langasite (lanthanum gallium silicate, La3Ga5SiO14). Compared to the quartz ball-SAWs, the langasite devices with higher electromechanical coupling coefficient allow for measurement of many more SAW roundtrips which should make for further improvement of sensitivity. Responses of the 2 langasite devices were dependent on coating time and reached ca. 95 deg. and ca. 125 deg., for n-butanol and isobutyric acid, respectively. In comparison, responses of the quartz device were much smaller despite comparable amount of coating because the measurement could be performed at 40th. Measurement of the langasite devices could be performed at the high 90th roundtrip without problem.
