要約(日本語): Dielectric behavior of poly(ethylene 2,6-naphthalate) (PEN) was studied by measuring its dielectric permittivity, conductivity and other electrical properties. Rapid increase in TSPC and a TSDC peak at around 120 ?C are attributable to the fact that the segmental mode relaxation becomes possible by the glass transition. Both the permittivity and ac conduction increase significantly above the glass transition temperature Tg since the molecular motion becomes active. Shoulders appear in both εr? and εr?' and move to higher frequencies with an increase in temperature. The conductivities estimated from εr?' at 0.01 Hz agree fairly well with the values obtained experimentally, which indicates that electric conduction contributes significantly to εr?'. These experimental results show that PEN is a good material for insulation below Tg, while its dielectric properties are influenced by its glass transition.
