要約(日本語): The demand rise for DC grids has created a pressing need for effective DC interruption technologies. Accordingly, a novel hybrid DC circuit breaker has been proposed. This circuit breaker combines a fuse and an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) to offer rapid current limiting and interruption capabilities for low-voltage DC (LVDC) applications. Furthermore, medium-voltage DC (MVDC) applications suggests the utilization of a mechanical contact in collaboration with the series-connected IGBT. By incorporating a capacitor in parallel with the contact and IGBT for a current commutation path, the test circuit has successfully achieved the protection of the IGBT from DC source voltage. This establishment of the commutation path provides potential for the application of the hybrid DC circuit breaker in MVDC systems.
