要約(日本語): パワーエレクトロニクス技術の進歩により、主電動機の種類は直流電動機から誘導電動機へと移り変わった。その後、永久磁石同期電動機の開発・実用化やパワーデバイスの進歩等により主回路機器の高性能化が進んでおり，従来に比べて，小形軽量化，大出力化，省保守化，高効率化，低騒音化等の高性能化が達成されている。本報告では，このような鉄道車両用主回路機器の高性能化技術に関する調査結果について報告する。本文は、主電動機の高性能化技術、電力変換装置の高性能化技術、主変圧器その他の高性能化技術、蓄電装置による主回路システムの高性能化技術、車両システムの高性能化技術、消費エネルギーの高性能化技術の各章で構成される。主電動機、電力変換装置、主変圧器等、機器単体の高性能化技術の他に、車両システムとしての高性能化技術、蓄電装置の導入による省エネルギー化技術についても紹介した。特に省エネルギー化技術に力点を置き、機器単体の省エネルギー化技術だけでなく、鉄道車両の省エネルギー評価技術、省エネルギー運転法についても調査した。

要約(英語): Owing to the progress of power electronics technology, DC traction motors have been replaced by AC motors, which brought large benefit such as increased power, reduced weight, reduced maintenance work and increased energy efficiency. In this report, the investigation results of the technologies for high performance traction equipments are shown. The main part of this report consists of six chapters: technologies of high performance traction motors, technologies for high performance electric power converter for tractions, technologies for main transformers and other components, technologies for high performance electric energy storage system for tractions, technologies for high performance rolling stock systems, and base technologies for high performance traction systems. Energy saving technologies using energy storage systems and high performance traction systems are shown as well as the high performance traction equipments. This report focuses on the investigation of energy saving technologies such as the high efficiency traction equipments, the estimation method for consumed energy and energy efficient driving.
