要約(日本語): 従来、工学領域では「ものづくり」の技術と知識を中心に、自然科学の知識を応用することで社会への貢献を達成してきた。しかし現在、高度情報化、産業のソフト化、ネットワーク社会などの時代背景を考え、伝統的な工学の専門知識（ディシプリン）を超えて、より広く経済、経営、金融などの専門知識、モデルを取り入れ工学と融合することで、より意義深い知識貢献が期待される。本調査委員会の目的は、伝統的な工学領域と非工学領域の融合をねらい、社会・経済・経営分野の有望な知識フレームワーク、手法、モデル、パラダイムを特定し、新しい研究課題とテーマを開拓することであった。
　特に本報告では、電力産業における市場化動向や情報ユーティリティの展開などに関連し、
(１)リアルタイム電子取引などに関わるシミュレーションとプライシング、
(２)価値、リスク、契約評価に関わる金融技術・契約技術、
(３)組織のデザインに関わる知識フレームワーク（契約理論・戦略理論）、
(４)インセンティブ行動と組織ガバナンスに関わるモデルと方法論（マルチエージェント・シミュレーション）の調査を重視した。

要約(英語): In the engineering, technology and knowledge of “manufacturing" contribute to society mainly　using natural science. However, for background of computerization, soft-izing of industry,networked society, and etc., more meaningful knowledge contribution is expected by uniting　knowledge, such as economy, management, and finance, with engineering. In order to unite traditional engineering and non-engineering, the purpose of this committee was　for the identification of knowledge frameworks, models, and paradigms of society, economy, and management to specify new research tasks and themes. In this report, we investigated following technologies according to deregulation of power industry and information utility.
(1) Simulation and pricing about real-time electronic commerce etc.
(2) Financial technology and Contract technology about value, risk, and contract evaluation.
(3) Knowledge framework about the design of organization (Contract, and Strategic theory).
(4) Methodology, and models about incentive action, and organization governance (multi-agentsimulation)
